’See-Saw’ is a kind of stand-alone installation. When people enter the low polygon bust model, they can see Video 1 (comedy). And when they enter specific part ( 0~50cm ), they can see Video 2 (tragedy). ‘See-saw’ involves the interaction between human and computer.

‘See-saw’ was inspired from Charles Chaplin’s famous saying, “Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot.” So when people enter the installation, they can see comedy, and when they get more close, they can see tragedy. So, I can say visitor observe and participate in our work. And the work enable communication between people and work.

‘See-saw’ uses infrared light sensor to measure the distance. And the Video 1,2 (comedy, tragedy) was done by linkage between Arduino and Processing. So when visitor is in over 50cm, processing show fixed video. So I can say ‘see-saw’ use video and sensor.

‘See-Saw’ gives consolation to visitor through seeing the work. We think that the healing period is over and the consolation period is coming. see-saw mean that Through the seeing the work, visitor can say that they look back(saw) their life. So we can say that ‘see-saw’ is philosophy work.
